Phi Phi Islands With Children&Phi Phi Don

The way on the ferry, from Ao-Nang to Phi-Phi Don Island took us about 2.5 hours .

I must say that we were very lucky with our hotel location, it was just 100m from the pear . We were so over luggage, I could barely walk those 100m with all our stuff , I didn’t won’t to think about other people caring their luggage to other side of the island. It could be very exhausting, especially with a child.

The first impression after Ao-Nang is LIFE. Everything moves, I’ve got the filling that I’m in the capital of south Thailand , many shops, many restaurant’s many people, everybody are busy. After we arrived, I went outside to buy us some food, from the abundance of shops and restaurants I start filling dizziness. There were just to much of everything.

Phi Phi Don is very small island , after 1 hour walk we’ve visited almost every part of the central area.
Koh Phi Phi beach

The place is fully tourist oriented , many bars and restaurants. There are few pharmacies on the Island and many little supermarkets, so basic baby food and other things for your child can be found easily. There are lot more bakeries and even pizza , which is great by the way .

The prices for common products are bit higher than in Krabi or Bangkok.for example: “Fried Rice” and “Phad Thai” in Krabi was about 30thb here is 60,  even 7/11 prices are higher by about 10-15%. On other hand trips to local beaches are much cheaper. We hired a boat for half day for 1200THB only.

There is not much to do here with a small child , the place is more for the parents. Children activities can be the beach and other Islands around.
Teenagers will enjoy visiting Maya beach , famous from the 90’s cult movie “TheBeach” and get drunk in local pubs.

There is many alcohol around here, so I guess young backpackers are having a great party time at the night Smile
Alchohol Buckets

For example , you can see here how a pub refills his beer stock.

After all those drinks , try to get home safe
And Remember!!!

Next stop Maya Bay and Bamboo Island
