IMG_1350-Edit.jpg

After 2 months on the road it is a time for a small summary. It is hard to express the changes we are going thru. To make it easier I’ll do it in photos.

New Year at Ko-Phangan and Child care services.

IMG_1315.jpg

Each year , about 60,000 guests come to celebrate the upcoming new year  in one of the biggest open air parties in Asia.We didn’t want to miss the chance to be a part of this and started to explore our options how to do it with a child. Taking Shai with us was out of the question,to many drunk people around, loud music etc..

Getting to Ko-Phangan from Ko-Phi Phi with child

After our family spend 3 great nights on Phi Phi islands we had to move forward. Our next planned place is Koh-Phangan , we are about to stay here for a month.Getting back to yoga, quiet and relaxation. I must admit we didn’t prepared to this trip, everything was so easy by now and I forgot to check transportation details in depth, we had some brochure that said something about getting from Phi Phi to Koh-Phangan with a ferry, but we didn’t check it in depth.

Ko-Phangan & First days relaxation

After a crazy adventure with our child day before , we finally got to our destination for relaxation and rehabilitation.Booth of us, never been in Ko-Phangan before, but on the way from Phi Phi me and I my wife felt that we are going home, strange thing a? Will se how our stay will go.

Thailand with Children-Ko Phi Phi-Maya Bay and Bamboo Island

IMG_0295-Edit.jpg

During our short stay in Phi Phi Island we decided to visit some of the neighbor islands and beaches.
After looking around at local agencies, we decided on 2 tours. Tour to famous Maya Bay and Bamboo Island. Getting an island tour with children is bit complex , so we decided to rent a private boat for half day .

Phi Phi Islands With Children&Phi Phi Don

The way on the ferry, from Ao-Nang to Phi-Phi Don Island took us about 2.5 hours .

I must say that we were very lucky with our hotel location, it was just 100m from the pear . We were so over luggage, I could barely walk those 100m with all our stuff , I didn’t won’t to think about other people caring their luggage to other side of the island. It could be very exhausting, especially with a child.

Good bye Krabi–Hello Leo – Ao-nang summary

IMG_9476.jpg

Our family vacation in Ao-nang  was little bit more than a month, and it is time to move on.
Tonight we are packing all the kid toys and our stuff and tomorrow we are going to Phi-Phi Islands (The ones with the amazing Maya Beach from Leonardo Di-Caprio movie “The Beach”), we are planning to stay there about 3 nights ,explore local beaches and near islands .After that we are moving to Ko-Phangan and will stay there for about a month .Planning to visit Koh-Pangan neighbor islands Koh-Samui and Koh-Tao.

It is our last night in Ao-Nang and it is time to do a summary of our stay here.

Thailand with Children–Hong Island

IMG_0436.jpg

During our stay in Krabi we took the advantage of having a one day tour to Hong Island. We were looking for something that we can go with a child. The tour was from 9:00-16:00 on long tail boat with covered roof, so from sun urn perspective it was safe. The tour cost was 600 THB per person and we didn’t need to pay for Shai. Actually most of Thailand tour agencies don’t charge for children bellow 2 years.

Search for a family house in Ao-Nang Krabi.

IMG_9319.jpg

It took us about 3 days to find a good place to stay for a month.Finding our Ao-Nang Krabi family vacation house was not a an easy as I thought it will be .Most of the places are designed for couples or backpackers which stay only for short period of time. To finding something that will be good for family with children , you need to get in contact with local people and be lucky.

Is Thailand local food Child Friendly

IMG_8700.jpg

Is Thailand local food is child friendly , or will I be able to find western food for my kid? That is probably a question that each parent should ask him self before coming to Thailand.
You can find most popular baby powders formulas in local stores, they are available every ware and easy to find.

Yoga in Ao-Nang Krabi, Thailand

ashram-outside.jpg

I started practicing yoga about 6 months before we started our journey. There is something about yoga that makes you try being a better person and concentrating on the good .At the period I was training every day , I didn’t  want to touch alcohol or cigarettes ,I became vegetarian. The training lead to many positive changes in my life.
At the point we got to Ao-Nang  I didn’t practice for about 3 weeks and started to feel fat and lazy, even started to desire for cigarette smoke  again. I understand that I must find a Yoga place to practice a soon as possible.

Ao-Nang – The Beach, The Massage and The Monkey Trail

The Beach:

The beach in Ao-Nang is a central point at Krabi province .The place is absolutely beautiful, but the main beach is not that good for swimming , the water color is brown, spatially in the rainy season .For swimming and sunbathing I’d recommend taking a long tail boat and go to Railay Beach .
