Air Asia Flight with Child and Bangkok Airport

Recently we had a chance to fly with this company with our son.
Although that was a short flight, we have many things to share.
So here is our flying AirAsia with kid review

Taxi:
Taxi drivers in Bangkok are using any possible chance to overcharge you. When driving in internal city destinations we always insisted to turn on taximeer and never paid more than 130 bath.
In order to get to airport we used hotel services to order taxi. We have been charged 400 THB from Bangkok Sukhumvit Road area to airport.I’m sure that if drier used a taximeter we would pay no more than  200 THB.Because of the early time of the flight , I didn’t want to run I n the middle of the night looking for taxi, we used more expensive hotel service.

The airport:
We took the morning flight from Bangkok to Krabi. The flight was at 6:35 , we arrived to the airport around 4:30 and passed all luggage check-in procedures in about 20 minutes. New Bangkok airport is very comfortable for use. We found everything very easy without asking a single question.

Luggage issues:
It looks that when you buy a ticket on AirAsia site for 2 adults and 1 infant , your allowed Luggage is 1 20 kg suitcase and 2 hand bags of 7 kg. We had 2 backpacks, 1 smaller bag .I  read in forums that Air Asia is charging every overweight kilogram you have, so in order to avoid inconvenience and for my own peace of mind, I purchased additional 20 kg for about 460 THB.
Our total weight was 16, 21, and 13 k g. We haven’t been charged for anything more and our hand luggage wasn’t been weighted at all “I had about 16 kg small backpack with photo equipment and laptop.

Air Asia:
It was our first flight using Air Asia , we never used their services before.
It is most popular low cost air company Asia. They have flight all across Asia and even few flights to Europe . I had many concerns about the flight , I was expecting an old plain with not to good service. Eventually the plain was super clean and newer than any other flight I previously had.The stuff was very friendly and thoughtful. During Internet check-in we received 2 sitting places on the same row , but each place was on the other side of the passing corridors. When the stewardess saw that we are with little child ,she arranged us 3 sitting places in 1 row , even our son got a sitting place the we didn’t pay for. I didn’t expect all that for a 50$ flight. Our flight on the way to Thailand was much harder and less comfortable.  Bottom line,It might be a beginner luck , but I was really impressed by them
